The filesystems repository contains source code for several exciting and useful file systems for you to browse, compile, and build upon, such as sshfs, procfs, AccessibilityFS, GrabFS, LoopbackFS, SpotlightFS, and YouTubeFS.

#MACFUSE CORE SOFTWARE#
The macFUSE software consists of a kernel extension and various user space libraries and tools. The macFUSE software package provides multiple APIs for developing file systems for macOS 10.9 to macOS 13. Therefore, many existing FUSE file systems become readily usable on macOS. It provides multiple APIs, one of which is a superset of the FUSE API (file system in user space) that originated on Linux. In more technical terms, FUSE implements a mechanism that makes it possible to implement a fully functional file system in a user-space program on macOS. Since FUSE file systems are regular applications (as opposed to kernel extensions), you have just as much flexibility and choice in programming tools, debuggers, and libraries as you have if you were developing standard macOS applications. Writing a file system using FUSE is orders of magnitude easier and quicker than the traditional approach of writing in-kernel file systems.

So my question is, what should the added line on MY MBP look like? Another question is I noticed it mentions read only. archivemount is known to work under both linux and Mac OS X (via MacFUSE). so the linux partition and mount location are quite probably wrong (I'm still learning!) Anyway - I installed Ubuntu EXACTLY as described in this tutorial: (second method with rEFIt) so even my partitions are exactly as listed in that tutorial. I actually just copied it word for word as I'm no good with partitions and what not. This is my first blog so I’ve though of sharing some info regarding accessing a Linux partition from a Mac and mounting it on OS X startup ツ Besides the addition of the MacFUSE compatibility layer there have been very few code changes to guarantee that OSXFUSE is as stable as MacFUSE. The first release follows a simple rule: Don't change anything code-wise unless it is absolutely necessary. The package 'OSXFUSE Core' includes the kernel extension. OSXFUSE is based on Erik's/Tuxera's MacFUSE 2.1.9 release that has proven to be very stable. MacFUSE 2.1.9 can be obtained from Tuxera. Well I got that working (after the whole freezing on the tux logo etc problems were sorted) but now I'm trying to figure out how to access the Linux partition from OS X (and hopefully vice versa) I had a previous thread regarding installing Ubuntu using rEFIt.
